Hi everyone,

As we approach the summer months, we wanted to let you know about an exciting initiative we are introducing at our workplace. We will be offering Summer Flex Fridays to all our employees as a way to promote wellness and work-life balance.

Summer Flex Fridays will allow employees to take time off during the summer months to enjoy the warmer weather, spend time with family and friends, and engage in activities that promote physical and mental wellbeing. The purpose of this initiative is to support our employees in achieving a healthy work-life balance and to show our appreciation for their hard work and dedication.

[OPTION 1]

  • From May through September, the first Friday of the month will be half days and end work at 12pm. In some cases, we have modified the first Fridays to align with holidays to create long weekends where possible.
  • Mark your calendars for these flex days in the summer months:
    • [INSERT DATE]
    • [INSERT DATE]
    • [INSERT DATE]
    • [INSERT DATE]
  • 1/2 day of PTO will be automatically applied across all employees for the Summer Flex Fridays, and if you want to take the entire Friday off, please request for 1/2 day of PTO.
  • Unused PTO from Summer Flex Fridays cannot be added back to the total PTO and used elsewhere. This will encourage all employees to take collective time off together.

  • Unused PTO hours from Summer Flex Fridays cannot be added back to the total PTO and used elsewhere. This will encourage all employees to take collective time off together.

Guidelines for implementing Summer Flex Fridays:

  • From May/June through September, the first Friday of the month can be a half day and end work at 12pm
    • The “first Friday” can be modified to align with holidays to create long weekends in the summer when possible
      • May - Memorial Day
      • June - Juneteenth 
      • July - July 4th
      • September - Labor Day
  • 1/2 day of PTO can automatically be applied across all employees for the Summer Flex Fridays, and if employees want to take the entire Friday off, request for 1/2 day of PTO
  • Unused PTO from Summer Flex Fridays cannot be added back to the total PTO and used elsewhere. This will encourage all employees to take collective time off together and create less operational burden when only some people are working and others are Out Of Office
  • Alternatively, another option for Summer Flex Friday is making every Friday from May/June through September to end at 3pm
    • Aforementioned guidelines can be followed for PTO policies
