September 16th is Mexican Independence Day, also known as "El Grito de Dolores!"
This important holiday commemorates the moment in 1810 when Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla, a Catholic priest, rang the bell of his church and issued a call to arms that sparked the Mexican War of Independence from Spain. Today, the holiday is celebrated with parades, music, dance, and of course, delicious Mexican cuisine.
This is a time for our team members in Mexico to come together with their families and communities to celebrate their nation's history, culture, and freedom. Traditional festivities include vibrant parades, delicious food, fireworks, and the iconic reenactment of El Grito.
In observance of this important day, our offices in Mexico will be closed on September 16th, allowing our colleagues there to fully partake in the celebrations.
