Hi everyone,

This week, we are observing International Self-Care Week. This is a reminder to prioritize your mental and physical well-being and make self-care a part of your daily routine. It's easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of work and daily life, but taking care of yourself is essential to your overall health and happiness.

Self-care can take many forms, whether it's taking a break to stretch, going for a walk, or simply taking a few deep breaths. Whatever form it takes, make sure to take a few minutes each day to prioritize your well-being.

As a reminder of the importance of self-care:

"Self-care is not selfish. You cannot serve from an empty vessel." - Eleanor Brown

We encourage you to take some time this week to focus on you. Be sure to use this time, whether it’s 5 minutes, an hour, or you take a whole day to focus on your well-being, in a way that serves your needs. Do what fills your cup!

If you have any questions or concerns or would like some tips or information about benefits and perks that might help with your self-care initiatives, please feel free to reach out to HR.

Thank you,

How to celebrate International Self Care Day at work

International Self-Care Week is an annual initiative that emphasizes the importance of personal health and wellness. It serves as a reminder for employees to embrace practices that enhance their physical and mental well-being, providing a structured time to focus on health in the midst of busy schedules.

Celebrating this event at work underscores the value of self-care as an integral part of a healthy lifestyle. By participating in self-care activities, employees can recharge and improve their productivity and satisfaction. Workplaces that support self-care initiatives can see improved morale and decreased burnout rates among their staff.

To observe International Self-Care Week at work, consider these daily themes for a Wellness Challenge:

Here are some tips to observe International Self-Care Week:

  • Monday: Mindful Meditation: Start the week off with a 10-minute mindful meditation session to set a calm and focused tone for the week ahead. This can be guided as a team or you can provide tips for employees to reserve time to meditate alone.
  • TuesdayExercise: Whether it's a team yoga class or a quick walk around the block, encourage everyone to take some time to get moving and get their blood pumping.
  • WednesdayDigital Detox: Encourage employees to take a break from social media and other digital distractions to give their minds a break and focus on the present moment.
  • Thursday: Spa Day: Treat employees to a spa experience, whether it's a massage gift certificate or DIY spa treatment they can do at home.
  • FridayGratitude Practice: Encourage employees to take some time to reflect on the things in their lives that they’re grateful for, whether it's writing them down in a journal or sharing them with a friend.
  • SaturdayCreative Expression: Motivate employees to engage in a creative activity that brings them joy, whether it's painting, writing, gardening, cooking, or playing music.
  • SundayRest and Relaxation: Everyone should take a day to rest and recharge, whether it's curling up with a good book or taking a nap.
