Hi everyone,

Today, we celebrate Global Recycling Day, a day dedicated to recognizing and promoting the importance of recycling for our planet. Did you know that recycling just one ton of paper saves 17 trees and 7,000 gallons of water?

To commemorate this day, we encourage everyone to participate in a simple (+ virtual) recycling challenge to learn about this Recycling Cheat Sheet:

🟢 Can Be Recycled:

    • Newspapers, magazines, and brochures.
    • Corrugated cardboard and paperboard (e.g., cereal boxes).
    • Office paper (white and colored).
  • Plastic (Check local guidelines, as they can vary):
    • Bottles (e.g., water, soda, shampoo bottles).

    • Plastic utensils.
    • Styrofoam containers/cups.
    • Toys.

    • Windows, mirrors, and glassware.
  • Miscellaneous:
    • Soiled food containers or pizza boxes.

    • Light bulbs (certain types like CFLs can be taken to specific drop-off points).
  • Hazardous Materials:
    • Batteries (though many stores have collection bins).
    • Paint cans.
    • Pesticide containers.

Note: Always clean recyclables from food residue before placing them in the bin, and be sure to check with your local municipality or recycling center, as accepted items can vary by location.
