Hi everyone,
We will be observing Cinco de Mayo in the office on May 5th. This holiday is celebrated in the United States as a way to show appreciation for Mexican culture and history.
This is a great opportunity to learn more about and appreciate one another’s rich cultures. Cinco de Mayo is celebrated in the United States with parades, Mexican music, dance, and foods. While this holiday is not widely celebrated in Mexico, it is observed in the Mexican state of Puebla to commemorate the anniversary of their victory over Napolean III's army during the French Intervention in 1862.
To celebrate, we will share traditional Mexican dishes like tacos, enchiladas, and guacamole. We also plan to decorate the office with festive decorations, play some Mexican music, and enjoy some fun together.
Let's come together to celebrate our diversity and have a great time! Please let us know if you plan to bring a dish to share for the potluck. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.
Thank you,

Cinco de Mayo, on May 5th, celebrates the Mexican army's victory over France at the Battle of Puebla in 1862. While its historical significance is observed in Mexico, especially in Puebla with reenactments and parades, the holiday has become an exuberant celebration of Mexican culture in the United States.
